Frequently Asked Questions
We know taking the first step can be intimidating. These questions might help provide some clarity and comfort. If you don't find your answer here, please don't hesitate to reach out.
What is Lifeline?
Lifeline is a Christ-centered community focused on helping people find freedom and healing through faith, accountability, and fellowship. We offer small group meetings, resources, and connection rooted in biblical principles. Our mission is to provide a safe, confidential space where people can be honest, receive grace, and walk toward freedom together.
Is Lifeline confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core value of Lifeline. What is shared in the group stays in the group. We take privacy seriously because we know how much courage it takes to seek help. This confidentiality creates the trust necessary to be vulnerable and honest.
Do I have to be a member of a specific church to join?
No. Lifeline is based in Oakland, FL, and we welcome people from any church background or denomination. You don't need to be a church member to participate. Our only requirement is a genuine desire to pursue freedom and grow closer to Christ.
What happens at a Lifeline meeting?
Meetings include a time of prayer, scripture-based teaching, and small group discussion. It's a safe space to be honest about your struggles and to receive encouragement from others on the same journey. We typically open with prayer, share a lesson or teaching, break into smaller groups for discussion, and close with prayer and commitments for the week ahead.
I'm not sure I have a 'real' addiction. Can I still come?
Absolutely. Lifeline is for anyone who wants to pursue freedom and grow closer to Christ. Whether you're working through personal struggles or simply want accountability and community, you're welcome here. You don't need to have it all figured out or meet certain criteria, just a willingness to grow.
Is there a cost to join?
No. Lifeline is completely free. We believe community should be accessible to everyone who seeks it, regardless of financial circumstances. Our group is entirely volunteer-led.
Where and when does Lifeline meet?
Lifeline currently meets in Central Florida, based in Oakland, FL. We serve people across the Orlando metro area including Clermont, Winter Garden, Windermere, and surrounding communities. For specific meeting times and locations, please contact us through the 'Request to Join' page.
How do I join?
Visit our Request to Join page and submit a brief form with your contact information. Someone from our team will reach out to welcome you, answer any questions, and provide details about upcoming meetings. Taking that first step is the hardest part and the most important. We're here to walk with you.
What if I relapse or struggle during recovery?
Recovery is a journey, not a destination. Setbacks and struggles are part of the process. Lifeline is a grace-filled community where failure doesn't disqualify you. When you stumble, you'll find people who understand, who will help you get back up, and who will continue walking with you. We believe in progress, not perfection.
Will my information be kept private?
Yes. Any information you share with Lifeline (whether through our website, in meetings, or in personal conversations) is kept strictly confidential. We understand the sensitivity of these issues and the courage it takes to reach out. Your privacy and dignity are paramount.
Can anyone join?
Lifeline welcomes anyone who follows Christ. We recognize that life's challenges affect entire families, and we encourage open communication with your loved ones as appropriate. Many people find that being part of Lifeline helps them strengthen their relationships.
Do you offer online meetings or is it in-person only?
Currently, Lifeline meets primarily in person because we believe there's significant value in face-to-face community and accountability. However, we understand that circumstances vary. Contact us to discuss your specific situation and what options might be available.
Still Have Questions?
We're here to help. If you have questions that aren't answered here, or if you'd like to talk to someone before joining, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your questions and concerns are valid, and we want to make sure you have the information you need.
